Why Milbank, SD?

Every town deserves every effort possible to help reach people through the love of Jesus Christ. Jesus said “Let us go into the Next Towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.” (Mark 1:38)

The heartbeat of Next Town Ministries is to go into every town in South Dakota and establish prayer and Bible study groups that will grow into churches as we meet the needs of people in the Next Town.

The vision for Next Town Ministries is to follow the model of Jesus and that of the original church found in the Bible of the book of Acts. This is the only history and living document of the original church. There were signs, wonders, miracles, and powerful demonstrations of the Holy Spirit. The prayer and goal of Next Town Ministries are to see an awakening of this across South Dakota before the return of Jesus Christ.

Milbank is the heart of Grant County — a tight-knit community of hardworking people who deserve a church that shows up for them.

Jesus Church of Milbank exists because we believe every town, no matter its size, deserves the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We started with prayer. We started with a Bible study. And God has been faithful every step of the way.

If you’ve been looking for a church that’s real, Spirit-filled, and rooted in the Word — you’ve found it. Come as you are. We’d love to meet you.

Pastor of Jesus Church of Milbank

Pastor Mark Brown & his wife Jordan have been married for 21 years. They are blessed with three children. Noah Jackson, Grace Nichole, & Eden Michal. They attended Indiana Bible College in Indianapolis, IN from 2002-to 2006. While there the Lord spoke to them about moving out to South Dakota to preach the gospel and impact lives. After much time and prayer, they moved to

Watertown in 2006 and relaunched a church work.

The Jesus Church has experienced incredible revival and growth over its 15-year pastorate making a difference in the Watertown community.

Early in 2021, the Lord gave Pastor Mark a burden and vision to reach the rural towns of South Dakota. In November The Jesus Church elected Jared Kemmis as the new Pastor and Mark Brown as Bishop.

Mark and Jordan currently base out of Watertown as they travel through towns in South Dakota praying for a rural revival and planting new churches in the Next Town beginning with prayer and Bible study groups
